A bill sponsored by Representative Claire Levy, that would make secure juvenile detention facilities the default placement for juveniles who are prosecuted in adult court passed the House Judiciary Committee today by a unanimous vote. 

Fake bills scams are circulating in Colorado.

The Colorado Division of Securities is investigating Brian Melchior Wellens of Colorado Springs for his role in what the division is calling a "multimillion-dollar investment scheme," The Gazette reports. Wellens collected money from investors, with the funds to be pooled to buy vacation homes in Colorado and elsewhere, according to the state. Wellens has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing $36.4 million in liabilities to 76 creditors, including state House Majority Leader Amy Stephens and Abel Tapia, director of the Colorado Lottery. ...
