Senate has hearing on bill that would help lower income Coloradans with hospital charges
The Senate Health and Human Services Committee will hear SB 134 – the Hospital Payment Assistance Act – today, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Senate Room 356 at the State Capitol, after a morning of constituent lobbying and the 6th annual Colorado Health Care Day of Action. One hundred health care consumers, business-owners and nonprofit members will advocate to ensure that uninsured working families get the financial assistance information they need to responsibly pay their hospital bills. Constituent lobbyists will learn how the legislative process works, attending advocacy workshops, meetings with legislators, lunch, a keynote address by Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Bill Corr and a legislative panel entitled Colorado Health Care Vision 2020.
