ThunderRidge High School to host robotics competition | Schools

On Saturday, January 14, ThunderRidge High School will host a statewide robotics competition.

The VEX Robotics Competition World Championship Qualifying event will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. There will be 24 VEX robotics teams from across Colorado competing for a chance to attend the VEX Robotics World Competition in April in Anaheim, CA.  The public is welcome to watch the competition at ThunderRidge High School.

The high school, located in Highlands Ranch, recently formed its own VEX Robotics Team, which they have nicknamed "Team TRRC" (ThunderRidge Robotics Club).

Team TRRC currently includes 12-15 members that work together on a variety of challenges and obstacles—as they think, create, build, and amaze to design a robot that they will use to compete in tournaments.

Joining a VEX Robotics Competition team enables students to experience a variety of roles on the team and share responsibility for all aspects of the building, programming, designing, and management processes. 

No prior experience is required to participate. The VEX Robotics Competition is designed to give a diverse group of students the chance to celebrate their accomplishments and share their passion for robotics with each other. There are currently more than 4,000 teams from 20 countries that participate in over 250 VEX Robotics Competition events worldwide.
